WHO WE ARE: This is a member led group learning about or refreshing their skills in User Experience. Join us each week to explore this classic! Our industry is based on this book and its understanding of cognitive psychology and why people do what they do. WHAT TO EXPECT: We will read a few chapters each week prior to meeting and then discuss what we found interesting, give examples of what we have seen in our everyday lives to help understand the why. Its a casual discussion of what we learned and how we can apply it to our work. The density and complexity of the chapters will determine the amount that will be discussed. 7 Chapters with an average of 40 pages 298 pages excluding index ABOUT THE BOOK: The Design of Everyday Things shows that good, usable design is possible. The rules are simple: make things visible, exploit natural relationships that couple function and control, and make intelligent use of constraints. The goal: guide the user effortlessly to the right action on the right control at the right time.
